Job description
The candidate will work in the Industrial Engineering Logistics (IEL) department. They will be involved in the mixed model production of recreational vehicles and will be able to develop their knowledge of manufacturing strategies used in the automotive industry. The team is young and dynamic, with 7 to 8 members, providing a dynamic work environment that fosters teamwork. The Logistics Centre is 200,000 sq. ft. and has innovative handling systems. We are constantly looking to reinvent and surpass ourselves in implementing the best possible solutions.
YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
As a member of the IM Logistics team and reporting to the Team Leader, participate in projects to optimize all of our logistics and material flow processes, from the receipt of merchandise at our warehouse to the delivery of components to the workstation in the plant.
- Project management: project definition, feasibility study, budget, planning, organization, communication and follow-up of activities with different teams.
- Set up structures to optimize material handling tasks, problem-solving, labour calculations, delivery and warehousing strategies.
- Be responsible for plant layout projects that have an impact on logistics (warehousing structure, workspace, area optimization, etc.).
- Design and manufacture of transport carts and/or containers for production-critical parts.
- Development of work tools (dashboard, KPI, etc.).
- Manage safety, maintenance and projects concerning storage systems for production parts and finished products.
- Support logistics production and OHS initiatives in your area of the plant.
- Work with different departments.
YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
- Industrial or mechanical engineer/technician or relevant equivalent.
- Experience using design software (AutoCAD, Catia), Office Suite (Excel), and ERP.
- The determination to take on challenges as part of a team.
- Good leadership and organizational skills.
- Experience in project management would be an asset.
- Experience in plant and warehouse layout, material handling vehicles and warehousing systems would be an asset.
- Professional communication in English and French (written and spoken) is relevant due to our suppliers located around the world and our interaction with international BRP teams.
