AGS Automotive Systems is a full-service automotive supplier specializing in the manufacture and supply of complex high value-add automotive metal components, including in particular front and rear impact assemblies, principally for pick-ups and the heavy truck market. AGS is looking for a Materials Coordinator to join our dynamic organization. This role is located in our plant in Cambridge, Ontario.

BASIC FUNCTION:

Reporting to the Materials Supervisor, the Materials Coordinator is responsible for, but not limited to, coordinating with the Shipping/receiving and Materials departments with the distribution of our product; and ensuring customer requirements are met and exceeded.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Adheres to procedures and instructions.

Responsible for maintaining safe working conditions, practices, and ensures that good safety processes are included in all activities. Ensure the Standards of Section 28 of the OHSA are met.

Responsible for inventory control within QAD which consists of:

Responsible to ensure customer requirements are met through the effective management of finished goods inventory, systems, and resources.

Ensure customer requirements are received weekly and daily and all communication on shipments made are generated on a timely basis.

Responsible for the effective communications of any problems with meeting customer schedules (including issues related to raw and subcontractor suppliers) to appropriate contact person at customer locations and also with internal levels of management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing and related processes, including customer shipping requirements, production scheduling and raw materials

Grade 12 and five years or more of experience in a computerized materials management / production environment

Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills

Good computer skills and knowledge of the relevant software
