Job description

Position: Technical Writer III
Work Schedule: EST Mon-Fri
Location: Waterloo

Are you an experienced Technical Writer and know how to consolidate technical documentation?
Will a new role with a very appealing industry leader be of interest?

We are seeking a technical writer to structure and consolidate our client's internal technical documentation. You will be working with many software development teams to understand and articulate system capabilities and interfaces (APIs), with the goal of creating a comprehensive documentation system that is consistent, understandable and maintainable.

Responsibilities
Create and refine technical information and other materials as necessary for explaining system functionality
Work closely with software developers
Suggest best practices and optimizations, including documentation of best practices
Manage complex technical information across multiple components
QA content for errors

Qualifications

Mandatory Skills/Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field
2+ years of experience in technical writing or software documentation
Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC)
Familiarity with Github
Familiarity with various markup languages, including Markdown, HTML, and YAML
Have a “big picture” view of our documentation system
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail
Healthy analytical and critical thinking skills
Time management and organizational skills

Non-Essential Skills/Qualifications:
Experience in Med-tech and SaMD
Good understanding of information architecture
Basic graphics and web design skills
Basic understanding of software development and APIs
