Position Overview:
Under the guidance and supervision of the National Procurement Manager, the Procurement Intern ensures timely execution of procurement services and processes and fulfillment of received requests from internal and external stakeholders. The Procurement Intern promotes a client-focused, quality and results- oriented approach in the Unit.
In this paid internship opportunity, the Procurement Intern works in close collaboration with other corporate business units, assisting Procurement team in resolving complex procurement-related issues, designing and deploying new initiatives, information exchange, and documentation/reporting.
About you:
- You are a student or recent graduate of business administration, economics, finance, accounting, supply chain management or engineering
- You are computer literate and proficient in MS Office and other standard software applications and familiar with digital solutions
- You have experience working with analytical tools and good at gathering, structuring and interpreting data

As an intern, you will:
- Experience and learn change management and engage with diverse stakeholders across the organization

Roles and responsibilities:
- Utilizing Procurement Analytics Platform to ensure visibility on the overall organizational spend while identifying opportunities for synergies, cost savings, process improvements, compliance and effective suppliers management
- Support Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) framework to build mutually beneficial and strategic alliances and partnerships with national suppliers
- Support sourcing strategies for the various areas of spend, categories, commodities, by working with the Procurement team in providing the spend profiles and analytics
- Support the procurement team in executing complex and/or critical sourcing initiatives
- Supporting in market intelligence studies, updates, research, and reporting
- Ensure appropriate execution of and compliance with procurement policies and procedures
- Support the National Procurement Managers and Leads in the entire sourcing process (starting from demand management and suppliers profiling process by collaboratively engaging all stakeholders internally and externally with suppliers/contractors and third parties)
- Support in tracking financial results of national rebates agreements
- Support and participate in design, development and roll-out of new initiatives, processes and procedures to enhance and optimize operations of the procurement function
- Assist with the preparation of documents and implementation of the document/file management system on Microsoft SharePoint
- Participate in team meetings and necessary awareness and training sessions
- Complete and conduct and independent presentation on your internship experience, knowledge growth, and observations
The incumbent will be coached by a team member who will support him/her in learning how to carry out these activities. He/she will learn the functionalities of the portals of Procurement as well as other Information Technology applications used by the Procurement Division.
