EMPLOYMENT TYPE:Full Time
Pioneer Construction is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Welder in the Thunder Bay Area. This is a full-time year-round position that comes with competitive wages, benefits, and a pension.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Precision welding operations
- Disassembly/Assessment/Repair
- Proper use of preheat and post-heat
- Base metal identification
- Determination of optimal tooling
- Selection of manual or semi-automatic welding, sub arc, and burning tools
- Selection of optimal welding amp and welding procedures and data sheets
- Set-up requirements may include jig or fixture design and fabrication and development of set-up documentation
- Reading blue prints
- Measuring
- Display professionalism toward our company and customers
- Must maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment
- Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental, Human Resources policies
- Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
ยท 3-5 years of welding experience in a shop setting through on-the-job training or recognized welding training
- Secondary school graduate with grade 12 mathematics
- Valid G Drivers License
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers.
- Ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Ability to lift in accordance with OHSA requirements (50lbs)
