We are recruiting on behalf of a Canadian public company located in Markham. They are seeking a progressive Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA-CA or CPA) with strong technical accounting knowledge to join their growing finance team. The employer is a well reputed healthcare services company and currently building its team to include high performing individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment where engagement, continuous learning and development are key to future growth.
The role is suited to an experienced finance leader who can lead financial process and analysis with strong team building experience to drive optimization of financial performance.
Key responsibilities and oversight:
• Leadership of professional team including Business Unit operational staff including coaching and development for succession planning
• Presentation to executives on financial analysis and completion of annual budget reporting
• Review key accounting close and reporting using ERP and technology enhancements to create efficiencies
• Process improvement and adherence to regulatory changes and updates including best practices
• Provide analysis on KPIs including related analysis of territory performance and variances
• Lead the budgeting & forecasting on portfolio companies, projections, risks and opportunities and action to business executives
• Financial management and regulatory reporting partnering with business on key areas of performance and growth
The successful candidate will possess the following:
• Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA-CA or CPA)
• 5 years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or a large multi-location financial operation in leadership roles managing direct staff
• Previous use of financial data tools to drive performance and interpret results e.g., Power BI or other large ERP Platforms
• Strong communication (verbal and report writing) to provide analysis and support findings
• Track record of initiating and driving change, a curious mindset, and ownership of multiple deliverables, executing and leading teams and processes
• Passion for process and continuous improvement to support various initiatives
