Job description
We are currently hiring Journeyman Pipefitters for maintenance and new construction projects throughout Western Canada.
Responsibilities
- Work with precise limits or standards of accuracy.
- Fabricate and assemble piping and piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for oil & gas processing systems.
- Make decisions based on measurable criteria and visualize objects in three-dimensions from plans and drawings.
- Able to read and follow drawings.
- Select type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications.
- Inspects worksites to determine presence of obstructions and to ascertain the holes will not cause structural weakness.
- Follows the sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other disciplines.
- Cuts pipe using various tools and equipment.
- Threads pipe using threading machine, also bends pipe with hand or with a pipe-bending machine.
- Assemble and installs variety of metal and nonmetal pipe and pipe fittings, including those made of brass, copper, lead, glass, and plastic.
- Follows all welding procedures (WPS) for the purpose of tacking pipe components.
- Secures pipes to structure with clamps, brackets, and hangers, using hand tools.
- Installs and maintains refrigeration and air-conditioning systems including compressors, pumps, meters, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, and piping.
- Tests piping system for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges.
- Able to follow instructions exactly as given.
- Works closely with Pipefitter Apprentices.
- Reports any issues and/or concerns to the Piping Foreman.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Journeyman Pipefitter.
- Proven ability to produce high quality work while facing competing priorities and strict deadlines.
- Demonstrate an ability to prioritize activities and stay focused in a dynamic ever changing environment.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
