Wage is per HSA Community Sub-sector Grid 21 + ECE-WE with ECE credential (commensurate with education and experience) Status: Part-time (6.00 hours/week) (Tuesday and Thursday afternoons) subject to change based on enrollment

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Coordinator, implement daily schedules for children attending Jump Start. This will include all program components typically associated with a quality preschool environment: circle time, story time, free play, small group and individual activity, arts and crafts, snack time, music, etc. The specific programming and schedule that are developed will be the responsibility of the Program Coordinator, in collaboration with the Assistnt, family and SCD Consultant.

Qualifications:
Early Childhood Educator certification, and at least five years’ experience in a community family-centred childcare setting

Responsibilities:

• Verbal communication skills that are empathetic and articulate.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Willingness to participate in agency community engagement activities such as the annual Telethon fundraiser and community engagement
• Availability to work outside of standard office hours
• Vehicle that meets ICBC annual inspection standards, and valid Driver’s License
• A criminal record check will be required
