Assistant Financial Controller

Job description
This is a critical role in supporting this healthcare equipment management companys financial operations and accounting functions. You will work closely with the Controller and the management team to ensure accurate financial reporting compliance with regulations and effective internal controls are in place. The ideal candidate will be a financially knowledgeable highly motivated team player with a positive attitude and a high degree of attention to detail.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the Controller in managing daytoday accounting operations including accounts payable accounts receivable and general ledger activities.
- Assist with monthend and yearend close processes including journal entries reconciliations and accruals.
- Monitor and analyze financial data identify trends and provide insights to management.
- Assist in preparing financial statements including balance sheets income and cash flow statements ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Assist in the coordination of external audits including the preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
Requirements
EDUCATION & TRAINING
- A Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- CPA in progress is an asset.
WORK EXPERIENCE & ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- 4 years working in an accounting or finance role preferably in a servicebased company.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Strong business accounting and financial acumen.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to present financial information to nonfinancial stakeholders.
- Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Advanced MS Excel and MS Dynamics 365 Business Central knowledge will be essential.
- A working knowledge of MS Dynamics CRM and PowerBI will be beneficial.
- Extreme attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills and an ability to multitask and prioritize projects within a rapidly dynamic work environment.
