Job description
Tasks & Responsibilities
Provide
profitability and strategic guidance to product and operational managers
A forward
thinker and agent of change (for finance analysis, process and control)
Partners with
the Business to ensure that quality information is shared as required, with a
focus on providing an analytical and critical commentary on financial results
Responsible
for the accurate and timely delivery of monthly financial, management and ad
hoc reports to the Controller/leadership team, ensuring compliance with
corporate policies and providing analytical commentary noting any significant
changes and/or deviations
Liaise with
operational teams to understand business case objectives and processes in order
to identify cost and benefits as well as design tracking mechanisms post
implementation
Assist in special
projects as required, external and internal audits, as well as annual budgeting
and forecasting cycles: preparation, ongoing revisions and completion
Takes a
leadership role in ensuring that best practice financial processes and data
quality are consistent and maintained
Mentors
supervises junior staff in the Department as required and as assigned
Deliverables and
Achievables
Reviewing and reporting on analysis
of product/operational results and business trends
Detailed reconciliation and
analysis of financial results against budget
Preparation of month end/ year end journal
entries and accruals, and ad hoc analysis as required
Perform profitability
analysis
Test and ensure business
controls are in place and effective
Development of reporting
tools to support product/operational needs
Activities in support of the
Controller and the operational division managers
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
