RECEIVING DEPARTMENT MANAGER
The Opportunity:
The Receiving Department Manager is responsible for the overall appearance, efficiency of the Receiving department in our brand new Kamloops location. This includes overseeing the team members within this department as well as ensuring a clean and well stocked department, receiving orders that represent the store's needs, and working with the other Department Managers to ensure that all deals, specials, and other incentives are taken advantage of by efficiently receiving and deploying stock. Responsibilities:
- Set an example for all other department staff members by showing exemplary customer service, strong work ethic, and dedication to the industry
- Maintain department cleanliness at all times, ensuring that shelves are clean, well-stocked, and faced
- Translate corporate goals into functional and individual team goals.

- Ensure a safe work environment through compliance in health and safety policies and procedures.
- Work in collaboration with the Store Manager and Assistant Manager to monitor department staffing requirements, including the creation of department schedules, approving time off requests, determining staff to customer ratio, etc.
- Employ department metrics for budgeting, scheduling and decision making.
- Manage department inventory, ensuring efficient receiving and deployment.
- Maintain familiarity with vendor contact information, purchasing requirements, brands and products.
- Participate in meetings and communications with other Department Managers for category as well as Category Manager to provide support, share successes and work through challenges as a team.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise.
Experience/Education Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in managing people
- Experience in a retail setting considered an asset
- Experience in a related industry or position is considered an asset. 2 years leading a receiving group is preferrable
- Strong knowledge of produce preferred, and a willingness to learn!
- Passion for alternative organic & sustainable products
- Availability and flexibility for evening and weekends
