Our client a well known, established international freight forwarder is currently searching for a Business Development Manager to join their team in MTL
Responsibilities
- Responsible to drive ground transportation sales by acquiring new customers and/or expanding existing customers with other modes of transportation.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through account management and growth.
- Have a consultative approach when working with prospective clients.
- Must be able to develop and present logistics solutions to prospective clients.
- Be a leader and become an expert of the assigned vertical or industry.
- Ability to build a Needs Assessment for the assigned vertical and integrate them to overall Business plan. Needs assessment can include capital investment to strengthen existing infrastructure.
- Target key prospects and follow the companies’ target tracker structure.
- Convert prospects and build an opportunities pipeline to achieve goals and objectives.
- Communicate and advise international offices of our market capabilities.
- Review and research market changes; develop and suggest new marketing strategies to increase awareness and promote corporate image and marketing specific to the assigned vertical sector.
- Perform all other job- related duties as required by VP of Sales and Senior Leadership
Qualifications
- Formal Academic training in Transportation or a related field and 5 + years’ experience within domestic/3PL sales; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- English/French bilingual a strong asset
- Ability to read, analyze, and respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to write speeches and presentations.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors
- Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, Power Point, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
