Territory Manager – Calgary & Bow Valley

Who is Eau Claire Distillery?

Eau Claire Distillery is Alberta’s first craft distillery, founded in 2013. Our company prides itself on innovation, quality, brand integrity and being a leader in the craft distillery sector. Our unique farm to glass approach gives us authenticity that few can rival.

 Brands include Rupert’s Exceptional Canadian Whisky, Stampede Rye Whisky, Single Malt Whisky, Yours Truly Whisky, Parlour Gin, Flourish Gin, Clearwater Vodka, and a range of Eau Claire canned cocktails. We also produce limited release distiller’s series’, specialty, and cask releases for sale in our Tasting Room and at the Calgary Farmer’s Market.

The Role:

In the role of Territory Manager overseeing the sales and business development for North Calgary and Bow Valley regions, you will be part of a passionate and dedicated Alberta Sales Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and execution of growing and educating our retail and on-premise customers with a focus on our core brands. Success is measured on the ability to deliver short-term and long-term sustainable profit and volume growth for Eau Claire within the territory while delivering against the specific needs of customers.

Overview of Responsibilities:

• Sales in both retail and on-premise channels within the territory.
• Delivery of predetermined volume and distribution goals.
• Scheduling and execution of tastings and events within territory
• Support partnership events and activations.
• Execution of key initiatives such as product launches, trade promotions, and company programs.
• Trade support of Key Account programs.
• Use of ACD to manage territory, report sales, observing trends within industry.
• Trade show support.
• Design and use of a route plan to deliver effective sales.
• CRM implementation and reporting.
• Most of all, build strong relationships with our most important partners within the territory.

Role Requirements:

• You must be able to work as a self-starter, able to work independently.
• Sales skills, specifically able to call on customers, build relationships, and build sales and distribution.
• Management skills, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.
• Organizational skills and effective time management.
• Professional personal presentation, delivery on promises made and personal integrity.
• A passion for the world of cocktails, craft distilled products and brand development.
• Self-confidence, energy, enthusiasm, and an inherent sense of urgency.
• An entrepreneurial mindset with a zest for continual improvement.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
• Ability to work under pressure while complying with all relevant legislation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, customer service, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
• Conducting tastings and attending trade events are a must.
• A valid driver’s license, a clean driving abstract, and access to a vehicle ongoing for use in the role.

Qualifications:

• Post secondary education, whether a diploma or degree an asset.
• Three to five years’ selling consumer packaged goods with preference being given to Beverage-Alcohol experience.
• Pro-serve, and experience serving alcohol.
• Understanding of the product, placement, price, and promotion strategies.
