The Opportunity

The Station Manager plays a pivotal role within the organization, tasked with steering the business unit towards achieving the overarching objectives and goals of the company. This involves managing every facet of the station, including sales, freight forwarding, terminal operations, warehousing, customer service, and billing processes, while also ensuring the station’s profitability.

Position Description

• Organize and manage manpower for all warehouse operations.
• Ensure smooth daily operations in compliance with company standards and protocols.
• Participate in the recruitment and selection of competent team members.
• Lead and manage warehouse staff through delegation, training, coaching, and evaluating.
• Supervise the management of freight, products, and supplies’ reception, distribution, and storage, covering both imports and exports across air and ocean operations.
• Help in maintaining inventory control and ensure documentation aligns with company SOPs.
• Oversee precise inventory record-keeping in customer and/or NECA systems.
• Aid in establishing and upholding security and safety policies to ensure a secure workplace.
• Sustain client relationships.
• Facilitate effective communication across customers, staff, and management.
• Promote and ensure adherence to safe warehouse practices and recommend safety improvements.
• Handle additional tasks as necessary.

Experience

• Experience in a similar managerial role.
• Expert knowledge in operations, warehouse, and transportation management.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proven leadership skills with an emphasis on team motivation.
• Analytical and mathematical proficiency.
• Effective networking and interpersonal skills.
• Capability to manage stress, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Skilled in understanding and implementing complex instructions.
• Strong project management skills.
• Physical ability to handle various items and operate warehouse machinery safely.
• Knowledgeable in ocean import/export container processes.

Education

• A degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Forklift certification.
• WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) training.
• TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) certification.
