Job description
Spence Diamonds was founded in 1978 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. We are proudly the leading diamond specialty concept in North America, and the largest Canadian-owned retailer of diamond jewelry.
Our dynamic team is growing and we are searching for the right individual to join our Spence Studio Team in Vancouver, BC, as a Goldsmith . This role will be a temporary 6-month contract to provide leave coverage support.
Responsibilities:
- Manage workload to ensure on-time delivery of quality product
- Inspect mounts before and after repairing
- Maintain a safe work environment and report any safety issues to the Production Manager
- Work with Team Lead to improve processes and quality of product
Requirements
Ability to:
- Professionally size rings up or down
- Repair and adjust jewelry mountings to position jewels
- Inspect jewelry for damage, loose stones, and when needed suggest repair options
- Solder gold, platinum, and silver rings
- Re-tip claws and perform claw replacement
- Re-shank rings
- Add mill-grain to rings
- Polish jewelry
- Check assembled and finished products as per quality standards to ensure conformance to specification
- Ability to use laser soldering machine an asset, but not required
- Applicants are required to have a minimum of 4 years experience
- Must be able to speak fluent English, as proficiency in English is a job requirement
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada full-time
