Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
The Mira Nursing Home
426 Young St Truro, NS

Position Scope: The LPN assists in all aspects of activity in the provision of nursing care to the clients. The LPN actively participates in the nursing process in meeting the specific needs of clients ensuring current gerontological practice. The LPN practices within the scope of the Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics as defined by the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an approved school of Practical Nursing
• Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing
• Current Standard First Aid or CPR Certificate
• Minimum 2 years experience in Long Term Care setting
• Strong leadership and excellent nursing assessment skills
• Effective communication skills both verbal and written
• Must carry qualities such as respectful, hard worker and compassionate
• Dependable and reliable with good attendance record
• Knowledge in Point Click Care electronic charting
• Clear and satisfactory Police Record and Vulnerable Sector Check within the last 6 months, required
• Proof of vaccination( Covid 19)required

Training

• Palliative Care course an asset
• PIECES Trained preferred
• Education/ Training relating to Geriatrics

Wages based on UNIFOR Contract
