Job description
Our company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC, ventilation, piping, utilities, P&ID, food processing, AutoCAD, project start up, commissioning, and customer onsite support. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, have excellent communication skills, and be willing to learn and grow with the company.
Responsibilities:
- Assist senior engineers in the design and implementation of mechanical systems including HVAC, ventilation, piping, and utilities.
- Prepare and interpret P&ID diagrams for various projects.
- Preparing mass and energy balances
- Sizing and specification of process and process utility equipment
- Conduct on-site surveys and collect data for project requirements.
- Use AutoCAD to create and modify mechanical drawings.
- Provide technical support during project start-up and commissioning stages.
- Assist in testing and troubleshooting mechanical systems.
- Provide on-site support to clients as required.
- Provide process documentation and operating instructions.
- Proactively identify process challenges and develop innovative solutions.
- Equipment procurement and bid evaluation
- Assisting project management with the development of project scope, budget and schedule for all process related work
- Helping to coordinate the schedules and work of contractors for process equipment installation
- Prepare preliminary sub-contractor scope of work
- Work with clients, vendors, and suppliers to develop cost estimates and proposals
- Manage cost and time constraints.
- Overseeing process and utility equipment installations
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in HVAC, ventilation, piping, utilities, and food processing design.
- Proven work experience in process engineering.
- Excellent technical skills.
- Knowledge of process related standards.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
- Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn.
