RWDI is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Air Emissions Testing team, the Environmental Technician will focus on Air
The role includes but is not limited to:
- Planning and executing technical aspects of air testing projects (focus on Stack/Fugitive Emissions Monitoring at industrial facilities)
- Preparation, calibration, repair, and deployment of source testing equipment
- Work in a team environment to complete assigned tasks
- Learn and follow standard procedures in stack or source testing/sampling
- Equipment, mobile lab cleaning and glassware preparation
- Working to strict schedules while maintaining a high level of quality
- Writing of technical reports
- Calculation of emissions based on testing results
We are accepting applications from candidates with the following qualifications :
- Post-secondary education or associate degree in Science, Environmental Technology, Engineering or Instrumentation.
- Strong computer, analytical and technical “hands-on” skills
- An aptitude for practical problem solving
- Experience with analytical instrumentation (gas analyzers or other) is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to perform manual tasks and be physically fit with the ability to perform heavy lifting.
- Comfortable with working at heights
- Field/site experience is a definite asset
Candidates should also possess :
- Strong people and team skills as well as being highly motivated
- Previous Experience in the Air Quality field is an asset.
- Experience with regulatory emission reporting is an asset
- An ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with no supervision
- Exceptional organizational capabilities, coordination and consultation skills
- Willingness to travel and to work long hours, and evenings. Requirement for occasional weekend support work based on business requirements.
- Ability to work on several projects at once and proven ability to successfully meet deadlines
