Work Location: Same as above 3780 S. Island Hwy, Campbell River, BC V9W 1M3 and patients’ homes.

Type of Employment: Full-time – Permanent

Job Description:

• Supply and empty bed pans
• Take patients’ blood pressure, temperature and pulse
• Serve meal trays and feed patients
• Make beds and maintain patients’ rooms
• Maintain inventory of supplies
• Bathe, dress and groom patients
• Transport patients between care facilities
• Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher
• Answer call signals
• Accompany patients on outside recreational activities and perform other duties related to patient care and comfort
• Administer first aid in emergency situations

Requirements:

Education: Some secondary school education is required.

Experience: A minimum of 7 months of experience as a personal care attendant, support worker or a related occupation is required. On-the job training is provided.

Weight handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs).

Language: English is required

Salary: $26.38 per hour, 40 hours per week.

Important Information: Flexibility on schedule is required. The work schedule involves rotating shifts in the morning, afternoon, evening and nights: from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM; from 2:00 PM to 10: PM; and from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Work on weekends is required.
