Position Summary

We are seeking an entrepreneurial minded and highly responsible and motivated Event Planning intern based out of our Mississauga location from May to August 2024. This role will have the responsibility to work directly with our Purina Veterinary Sales, Marketing and Professional Engagement teams as well as assisting our National Operations Group on other projects.


A day in the life of a Veterinary Event Planning Intern

A day in the life as our Veterinary Event Planning Intern consists of working on a number of executional tasks for developing and growing the exposure of our Pro Plan Veterinary products within the Vet Channel and amongst Veterinary professionals. You’ll be responsible for scheduling & executing internal meetings, national tradeshows and lunch and learns, which includes theme development, site selection, venue, meals and meeting rooms, and awards night planning. Based on learning, feedback and evaluations of the events, you will implement continuous process improvement when necessary for future events. You will also be responsible for reviewing contracts and submit to legal for approval and signatures. This role will provide an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to gain experience in event and project management and strategic communications.

As the successful candidate, you will be a self-starter and have excellent interpersonal skills coupled with experience working cross-functionally with sales and marketing. You will have proven problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to gain insights and develop recommendations. You will need to be results focused, detail oriented and thrive in a fast-paced environment managing several complex priorities with strict deadlines.
