CALLING ALL FORKLIFT OPERATORS!!!!

Our EXTREMELY large and established client located in Scarborough is looking to add multiple experienced FORKLIFT OPERATORS to their team (looking for candidates with PROPANE forklift experience)!

THIS IS A PERMANENT POSITION - DIRECT HIRE FROM DAY ONE!

Client operates a UNIONIZED environment, which means pay rate progression, benefits packages, internal promotions, and PENSION, all sit at INCREDIBLY desirable levels!!!

This role requires a candidate who has flexibility in their schedule, as this position rotates ALL THREE SHIFTS. However, this is NOT a 12 hour continental.
The schedule runs as two weeks days, two weeks afternoons, two weeks overnights. Shifts are 8 hours running 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am.

Rate of pay for this role STARTS at $20.26, BUT THEN INCREASES THREE TIMES OVER THE FIRST YEAR.

• At the three month mark, pay increases to $23.58
• At the six month mark, pay increases to $25.70
• At the one year mark, pay increases to $28.24

Minimum 3 years of experience and MUST have reliable employment history

Responsibilities
• Operate propane-powered lift trucks (will be trained on CLAMP TRUCK internally)
• Complete mandatory pre-shift vehicle inspection
• Operate within a three man team working in tandem to run a large printing press
• Use material handling vehicles to transport very large rolls of paper (3,000 lbs) from storage to printing press
• Perform manual set-up of rolls in the press unwind area
• Assist the two other team members with all press changeovers including wash-up
• Ensure all directions are followed with utmost accuracy
• Cover coworkers on other presses for breaks and absences, when occasionally required
• Follow all health and safety procedures and protocols and reporting any hazards or infractions to supervisors
• Assist press team members with tasks requiring additional assistance, if necessary
• Complete any required shift reports and documents

Qualifications
• MUST have a clear criminal record
• 3+ years' of experience working in fast-paced industrial manufacturing environments
• 1+ years' of experience operating various forklifts (counterbalance/reach)
• Must have the flexibility to work all three rotating shifts
• Must have flexibility in schedule to allow for occasional overtime when/if large projects require longer hours
• Must have a positive attitude and approachable personality - enjoys working with people
• Willingness to occasionally assist with duties that take place OFF the forklift
• Natural mechanical inclination a big asset
• Ability to work effectively and under tight production deadlines
• Ability to work in a team-centric environment
• Comfort working in a unionized environment
• Willing to step up and lend a hand when teams require additional help
• Ability to stay motivated with little supervision
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
