Your new company
Hays Construction is partnered with a local Ottawa-based ICI GC that is looking to expand their footprint into the Barrie area. They offer a professional working environment along with an excellent benefits program. Projects are generally $30M to $100M in scope, fit ups and new builds.
Your new role
As the Estimator, your job will be to research and bid on public projects, contribute to bidding and tendering strategies as well as invite bids and follow up with subcontractors and suppliers. You will also perform quantity surveys and obtain and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
As well you participate in costing studies (classes D to A) for preliminary projects and proposals.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this intermediate level role, you will have at least 5 years of experience as an Estimator in an ICI environment. You should have post-secondary education in Construction Management or Engineering and be an efficient personality that works well under pressure. You must be very organized and be looking to grow your career in a growing company.
Ideally, you are well versed and have strong relationships with trades in the Barrie area.
Bilingualism is required, but unilingual will be considered. Remote work possible.
Nice to have skills include Blue Beam software
