Job description

Job description:

Graduate Positions are open at the University of Regina with research carried out in the GlueX/JEF Experiments at Jefferson Lab, Virginia, USA. Our group designed and constructed the GlueX electromagnetic barrel calorimeter and plays a leading role in data analyses on beam asymmetries, cross sections and partial waves. Students travel to Jefferson Lab to maximize interactions with collaborators and expedite their degrees.

The JLab Eta Factory (JEF) experiment will involve precision measurements of eta rare decays, using a recently upgraded GlueX calorimeter with a high-granularity, high-resolution PbWO4 crystals, and will commence running in September 2024. JEF will facilitate the search for gauge boson candidates in the sub-GeV mass range, probing highly motivated portals coupling the Standard Model to the dark sector. JEF will also test fundamental symmetries and the quark mass ratio.
