Job Summary:

The School of Culture, Media, and Society invites applicants for a one-year Limited Term Faculty appointment in Anthropology. The successful applicant will be expected to teach a total of seven (7) sections during the academic year, consisting of up to five (5) different course subjects. Courses will be drawn from the existing list of Anthropology courses in our academic calendar ( Courses to be taught include ANTH 102: Culture and Society, either ANTH 111: First Nations of British Columbia or ANTH 130: Religions and Cultures, and a selection of second- and third-year courses.

For this position, the scheduling of courses on the timetable is likely to be for Fall and Winter only, but may span three semesters (Fall, Winter, condensed Summer). Duties of Limited Term faculty fall within Article 18.2 (Teaching Faculty Duties) of the Collective Agreement, specifically the Teaching and Service components.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a PhD or be ABD in Anthropology. A combination of an MA in Anthropology with relevant professional experience in Indigenous cultural and/or community engagement will also be considered. Teaching experience at the university level is preferred. Experience using Blackboard is an asset.
