Our client in the automotive industry in NEWMARKET, ON is growing and in need of a seasoned CNC Supervisor to join their team on the night shift.  If you have experience in a machine shop leading people and want to join a growing well-known automotive company, then read on !

What’s the Job?

• Supervise and direct all CNC machining and process engineering associates on the afternoon and midnight shifts
• Responsible for planning, designing, coordinating, installing CNC machines and support equipment
• Operate and maintain CNC machine tools; implementing changes to new/existing manufacturing processes
• delegate/supervise daily activities of CNC operators; hire, train, discipline staff
• monitor department targets; ensure set-up verification and first/last part inspection has been reviewed/approved; ensure inspections are completed at each stage and tests performed
• monitor up/downtime; identify non-conformances
• develop, write, edit programs as needed
• coordinate timing of ECN's to minimize obsolete stock and ensure production at the required engineering levels; support APQP
• Participate in Kaizan and GEAR activities

What’s Needed?

• must have hands on experience in : CNC lathes/5 axis, cutting tools, G/M codes and CNC programming
• SWISS lathe experience needed
• post secondary in engineering - mechanical preferred
• minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field
• experience training in CNC machining methods and practices
• Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems
• Good technical report writing abilities
