Key Responsibilities Include:
What will you do?
- In Home Family Support and building individual goal plans with families to meet their goals
- Develop and maintain ongoing contact with social services
- Assist and support residents to navigate and access services, programs and resources
- Provide caregiver capacity and child development programming for families
Requirements:
What do you need to succeed?You are an ideal candidate if you have the following:
- Post-secondary education, with a diploma in social services and/or human services discipline.
- Solid understanding of childhood development and the needs of parents, children and families is preferred.
- Integrated Strategies for Home Visitation, Suicide Intervention, Mental Health First Aid and Standard First Aid are assets. Equivalencies will be considered.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience working one-on-one with individuals and families, as well as working in partnerships with a variety of agencies.
- Experience working with a diverse population that may be experiencing mental health, poverty, homelessness and/or addictions issues.
- Knowledge of housing, employment, social services and supportive agencies.
- Training in ASQ-3 an SE2, Kimochis, Circle of Security, VTRA and Nobody’s Perfect would be considered an asset.
- Must be able to maintain healthy boundaries, communicate care and provide professional referrals.
- Successful completion of a Child Intervention check.
- Experience and training in Emergency Social Services is an asset.
- Be willing to work flexible hours that may include evenings and weekends.
- Must have an operator’s license and vehicle to drive.
