In this role, you will:
- Oversee the Project & Material Planners when planning customer work specifications and ensure the customer requirements are being met (this will include resource and material identification).
- Lead, coordinate and develop staff to ensure the team is utilized and deployed effectively
- Manage the creation and closeout of production work orders within the Company’s software to support the project schedule.
- Manage and develop effective relationships with customers and key stakeholders by enhancing two-way communication, building an understanding of customer priorities and objectives, and improving integration and alignment of stakeholders.
- Actively manage project scope, schedule, cost and quality while following the applicable processes and procedures.
- Provide the Project Manager with technical planning & material support both during project bid submission and project execution.
- Establish budgets and financial forecasting to ensure activities remain within the approved budget.
- Develop and manage project risks in consultation with the Project Management Office.
- Coordinate handoff of a completed work scope estimate and schedule to the Bid Manager.
- Ensure compliance with all working practices, standards of discipline, safety, and quality, maintained through familiarisation and compliance with the requirements of extant Corporate Procedures.
- Other duties as necessary.
The ideal candidate brings:
- 8+ years relevant experience with 5 years’ experience in project management in defence systems contracts within the last 7 years and 5+ years leadership experience.
- Project Control / ERP software experience.
- Experience in commercial Estimating & Detail Planning.
- Sound working knowledge of project management principles and sound understanding of the business to effectively lead the project team.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including presentations in front of groups.
- Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint and a working familiarity with at least one version of common scheduling software (e.g. P6 or Microsoft Project).
- A broad engineering/technical background is considered an asset.
- Submarine experience is considered an asset.
- Royal Canadian Navy (or similar) operating system experience is considered an asset.
- You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
