Plant Superintendent
Our client is on the search for a Plant Superintendent, this rewarding new position will appeal to a success-driven professional with a background working within a production or manufacturing industry looking to play a vital role in a thriving, privately held company. Our client is a nationwide leading production and distribution company, with a strong reputation for building relationships and satisfying their clients. The role of Plant Superintendent will report directly to the Plant Manager and be responsible for leading the afternoon teams.
Your success will be defined by your ability to: - Assist and support supervisors and staff in growing and seeking opportunities to improve the plant’s operations and processes
- Oversee production operations assuring quality and adherence to production specifications to meet customer expectations and business objectives
- Accountable to achieve the assigned business metrics including yield, labor efficiency, sanitation, overhead expenses, and fulfillment of customer orders
- Supervise practices that are in line with industry and client standards
- Provide leadership and direction to all employees
- Demonstrate ideal behavior, mindset, and attitude to promote and create a superior safety culture and to ensure continued, sustainable growth
- Ensure compliance with all OHS, environmental, regulatory, and corporate standards
- Ensuring all infrastructure and employees are properly equipped and able to perform efficiently in their positions
- Act as a liaison between different departments to ensure specifications are met
Your strengths include: - A business, engineering or relatable degree is preferred
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and production environment
- Management experience in the food industry is a definite asset
- Lean Manufacturing is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with staff at all levels of the organization
- Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
- Able to work both independently as well as a proactively part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt well to changes and tackles any task with confidence
