How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team: The Coordinator, Community Outreach & Education is responsible for supporting the development, and coordination of assigned education, training and/or community-based programs, including liaising with internal and external stakeholders to effectively advance TRCA’s strategic goals.
Major Responsibilities: - Organizes the logistics, communications, and plans for the execution of training, education and community engagement programs, projects and events.
- Develop and execute event cost recovery plans, including setting event admission prices with the senior manager; developing sponsorship proposals and seeking opportunities by leveraging existing networks and gathering intel from other related organizations
- Designs, develops and delivers a variety of innovative events and programs to engage diverse audiences in employment opportunities, sustainability initiatives, retrofit actions, community co-design, and community capacity building and connections.
- Monitors, reports and tracks metrics related to event and program deliverables, while undertaking research into industry best practices
- Designs and deliver tailored marketing and promotion including letters, flyers, signage, website, and social media content.
- Supports financial tracking and reporting as well as sustainability of metrics.
What will you need to succeed: Education (degree/diploma/certifications/licenses)
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Environmental Studies, Business, Event Management, Communications, or a related field.
Experience
- 2+ years of experience providing program coordinator or administration, relationship / account management; sales / business development; event or membership management; marketing and/or communications.
Knowledge/Skill/Ability - Competencies
- Familiar with Zoom and other online event platforms; familiar with e-mail marketing platforms (e.g. MailChimp); familiar with website platforms (e.g. WordPress); account or membership management; generalized sustainability knowledge, ideally related to the ICI sector; sales; business writing; marketing; grant writing.
- Ability to engage with partners and the public and communicate effectively with tact and courtesy.
- Able to self-manage workload and prioritize tasks as an ongoing challenge in a frequently fluctuating workload and multiple deadlines.
- Demonstrates responsiveness to internal and external customer requests and needs.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively identify problems in a timely manner, seeking the appropriate level of support to solve issues.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite including online software such as MS teams, WebEx, and SharePoint
