Job description
Adecco is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Engineer, Research & Technology to lead our Engineering department in Peterborough, ON. As a key player you'll be responsible for setting and achieving engineering strategy goals, managing research and technology projects, and providing technical leadership. This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $150,000 per annum.
Pay rate: $100k-$150k/year.

Detailed Job Description: As the Chief Engineer, Research & Technology, you will:
Set goals and objectives for Engineering Strategy, Research & Technology, and Process Improvement.
Provide mentoring to ensure Areas of Responsibility meet goals and objectives.
Oversee the technical work of project teams, ensuring completion within budgeted limits.
Hold technical design authority and approval, delegating it within project teams when necessary.
Identify skilled resources for engineering and training support.
Provide technical management and leadership to engineering managers.
Actively participate in business and strategic planning, offering group technology roadmaps.
Interface with the Parent Company on joint strategies, common tools, and Research and Technology projects.
Maintain professional competence, knowledge, and skills necessary for assigned responsibilities.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure company objectives are met.
Candidate's Profile:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Advanced Degree is an asset (Masters, MBA, etc.).
Excellent knowledge of diverse, fundamental electronic engineering concepts especially related to embedded systems’, software and hardware development including programmable logic.
Minimum 10 years of post-graduate experience with responsibilities covering the Design and Execution of complex projects in the Aerospace and Military industries.
Minimum 10 years of direct work experience with commercial aerospace and/or military specifications, standards and practices – preferably with ARP-4754A, ARP-4761, RTCA DO-160 F/G, MIL-STDs; RTCA DO-178B and DO-254
Knowledge & experience in application development, systems design and architecture, maintenance and support of embedded products for the full life cycle of the product
Extensive experience with effective and efficient Engineering/Technical Solutions development
Project Management Practices a plus
Proven track record for on-time product delivery, ability to meet deadlines, develop project plans and is results-oriented
Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment when needed
Ability to integrate new technologies into products to ensure that the organization is meeting its high-quality goals and objectives.
Ability to converse and collaborate with multiple departments spanning multiple disciplines.
Practical experience with risk management, product testing and qualification, reliability analysis and capability studies.
Highly motivated and self-directed capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to review technical documentation, including project plans, development plans, test procedures, and design documents.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
Bilingual English/French is an asset.
Ability to pass a criminal record check.
Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
