Position: Autobody Apprentice
Salary: $20-$22/hour
Reports to Location Manager
Qualifications
- Ability to work towards performing all tasks required of a Red Seal or Journeyman technician independently
- Interest in enrolling as a registered autobody apprentice focusing on collision and repair
- Capable of forward thinking and logical decision making that is appropriate to assignment
- Ability to take direction from licensed autobody technicians in the shop
- Valid Class 5 driver's license required
- Ability to follow complex instructions with minimal supervision and able to tolerate the physical demands of the job including lifting 50 lbs. or more regularly.
Responsibilities
- Show a professional, goal oriented, and sincere approach towards all other employees and customers
- Work independently and have a strong understanding of vehicle systems and other relative technology
- Perform equipment audits and check for acceptable performance and detect faults and or possible malfunctions
- Attend all daily and/or weekly production meetings
- Follow Health and Safety programs and guidelines and attend safety meetings regularly
- Ensure highest level of safety standards are met in accordance with all relevant regulations and our corporate guidelines
- Making sound decisions with support of Location Manager
- Collaborate with team on regular basis to ensure common shop goals are met
- Maintains a clean and well-organized work/repair area
- Hold accountable and ask questions if unsure about proper repair processes and procedures to follow
Performance Metrics
- Remains focused and strives for continuous improvement helping shop achieve its goals
- Displays a strong work ethic with focus around his/her productivity, efficiency, proficiency, and quality repairs
- Manages multiple job tasks and prioritizes according to direction from location manager, importance, shop goals, and customer obligations.
- Ensures a high degree of time management on all daily tasks/projects
- Continuously strives to reach and exceed shop targets with the support of Location Manager
