The role

The purpose of this role is to project manage the upgrade of mission critical facilities and monitor and maintain the mission critical infrastructure supporting the Freedom Mobile telecommunications network. Anchored in the Technical department, this position requires flexibility (24/7) and must ensure the Business Continuity of the Corporation. Strong communication skills are required in dealing with internal business partners, service providers, consultants, landlords, and government officials.

A typical day

• Assist in project management mission critical facility builds and upgrades including designs validation, and quality checks during and after installation and reporting to senior leadership.
• Develop and implement Change Orders with scope-of-work for preventative maintenance of mission critical equipment at core sites: Electrical Systems (generators, transfer switches, UPSs, DC power systems, grounding, and etc.), Mechanical Systems (fire suppression/detection systems, CRACs, Gas heaters, leak detection), Life Safety Systems, and Remote Alarm Monitoring Systems; Technical Troubleshooting; Maintain Clean Room standards; Interface with Property Management.
• Collaborate with various groups and teams within Québecor/Vidéotron and Freedom Mobile to achieve the objectives of the Corporation as a whole.
• Other duties as required.

Your skills/experience

• Problem Solving, Project Management, Leadership, Budgeting.
• Agility and Flexibility: intense concentration in writing specifications and procedures; physical strength and endurance to conduct day to day activities – able to switch gears and adjust priorities on short notice based on business needs.
• Assist in project management mission critical facility builds and upgrades including designs validation, quality checks, reporting.
• Develop and implement Change Orders for work within mission critical data center facilities.
• Health & Safety certification
• Schedule flexibility to support activities across national time zones and during off peak and nighttime hours; 20-40% travel may be required.

• The successful candidate will be based and hired at our Freedom location in North Vancouver.
