In their pursuit of excellence, they're on the lookout for a dynamic, experienced Accounting Manager – M&A Integration to join their team and support their strategic merger and acquisition initiatives.
Position Overview: The Accounting Manager – Mergers & Acquisition Integration will play a pivotal role in facilitating the seamless integration of new mergers and acquisitions into their organization. Reporting to the controller, this role will ensure precision, accuracy, and compliance within all accounting processes related to M&A activities.
Responsibilities, Accountabilities, and Deliverables:
- Drive the M&A integration process for all new acquisitions, including post-closing adjustments and standardizing accounting processes.
- Partner with consulting firms for due diligence and opening balance sheet adjustments.
- Assist Controller with month-end close process, reporting, audit, and tax requirements.
- Prepare journal entries and monitor GL coding accuracy.
- Review long-term service contracts and WIP/unearned revenue accounts.
- Lead inventory count/post-close during acquisition close.
- Maintain, improve, and reconcile detailed lead sheets for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Business partner with site-level acquisition teams.
- Ensure integrity of financial systems and ERP enhancements.
- Review payroll and benefit payouts, collaborating closely with HR.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional work experience in hands-on accounting roles.
- Experience in M&A accounting and integration preferred.
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Professional designation (CPA) preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong IT and ERP systems knowledge.
- Experience with Sage, QuickBooks, IFS, or similar software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel in Canada and the US (up to 20-30%).
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in industrial manufacturing or service industries with exposure to standard costing, percentage completion, long term contract accounting.
- Familiarity with integrated accounting ERPs, Concur Expense, Ceridian/ADP Payroll.
- Experience with corporate income and state/provincial sales tax.
- Proficiency in Power BI and/or SQL databases.
- Mindset of continuous improvement, shows initiative, excellent communicator, professionally mature, process-driven mindset, and has extreme accountability.
