As they have carved out a niche for themselves in Ottawa, we are looking for a Senior Accountant who can support their property management and legal clients. The role of the Senior Accountant is to help support the growing portfolio within the property management / real estate and legal services area. We are looking for someone who it motivated to join a progressive and forward-thinking organization that is set up to offer best in class service to clients. The Senior Accountant will work with the leadership teams within their client and act as a default Controller to help guide financial plans according to best accounting practices. You will be involved in more than just the accounting, their clients value your input. You will be responsible for the day to day accounting operations, ensuring proper cash flow management, financial statement completion and audit preparation. We are looking for someone who is responsive, a strong communicator who can liaise with client and continue to deliver an exceptional service on time and budget. We need someone who has their pulse on tax requirements during tax season and isn’t afraid to research or come up with solutions to accounting problems. Critical responsibilities for this role would include building trust and relationships with clients, deliver high quality full cycle accounting from cash flow to audit, and assisting with financial management. You will be able to help with T2 tax returned and makes sure the books are clear and clean for audit. Strong monthly / quarterly and annual financial statement preparation across multiple industries will be needed, while strong communication with client on cash flow management, financial planning, investment schedules and year end working papers will be required. As the Senor Accountant, you will have your pulse on regulatory or tax changes and educate clients on the impact.
The Ideal Candidate values mentorship and collaboration and is willing to go on site to benefit from an amazing team. Working out of their beautiful Orleans office, we are looking for someone with 3+ years of experience with full cycle accounting, up to and including financial statement preparation. You will be proficient in QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop and bring exceptional Excel skills. Your attention to detail and high accuracy will be critical to this role. We are looking for someone who knows how to meet tight deadlines, work with multiple clients, and have strong follow through with clients. You will be a proven logical thinker, who can problem solve, bring advice with confidence, and know how to prioritize your time. This role is perfect for someone who loves to interact with clients and can tell the story behind the numbers. You will thrive working with entrepreneurs and business owners and feel impactful by helping them drive their business. CPA isn’t required.
