Job description

WSP is currently seeking a Field Services Technologist to join our Transportation Engineering Team, located at our Winnipeg office.

A day in the life:

• Perform various construction administration tasks for Transportation Engineering projects;
• Duties include construction layout, quantity pickup and calculations, processing surveys via computer software;
• Mentor junior staff;
• Manage multiple projects and work independently with minimal supervision;
• Technical analysis and design;
• Report preparation; cost estimating;
• Conceptual preliminary and detailed design drawings;
• Provide training and guidance to junior staff; and
Other duties as assigned.

We'd love to hear from you if you have ...

• Graduate from a Technology program, Municipal discipline preferred. Equivalent related experience will be considered;
• 5+ years of experience in urban and rural transportation projects (e.g. roads/highways interchanges, transit, cyclist ,etc);
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specs;
• Competence in Microsoft platforms including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project;
• Experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD is an asset;
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal, including teamwork and interpersonal abilities;
• Comfortable in working independently in both an office and field environment; and
• Possess a strong work ethic, good communication skills, willingness to learn, and a team-player attitude;
• Must be willing to work overtime/weekends;
• Valid Manitoba driver’s license.
