The Coating Machine Operator works under the supervision of the Lead Hand or supervisor. Sets and operates the coating machines (parylene, robotic coating, Firnar robot, routing) to apply coating on printed circuit boards.
As Coating Machine Operator, your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Prepares chemical mixtures for coating as per approved procedures.
- Immerses parts to be coated in chemical solutions and place them in a vacuum room (Parylene).
- Calculates the surface area to be coated and parylene to be used.
- Fills up the coating machine with parylene and liquid nitrogen mixture.
- Places parts to be coated and sets the machine. Asks the Production Engineer to check adjustment before starting the machine.
- Checks and records the temperature, time and pressure readings throughout the cycle as per the established procedures.
- Removes parts and clean the machine and places them on racks at the end of the operation.
- Reports malfunction to the Production Engineer.
- Assists in simple and routine maintenance and cleaning of machines concerned.
- Selects the machine program (robotic coating, routing) and performs pre-production preparation steps.
- Feeds the selective coating machine, checks the good working condition and ensures a proper coating.
- Separates edges from boards using the automated routing machine.
- Adjusts the robot according to the operation results, performs touch-up using gel, if required.
- Performs masking, unmasking and spraying.
- Performs bonding and coating touch-up tasks.
- Performs any other related tasks as assigned.
To join our team, you must hold:
- High School diploma
- Three (3) months of previous experience in chemical processes.
- Six (6) months of experience in PCB coating.
- Ability to follow written instruction for mix preparation, time estimate, etc. and the use of simple measuring instruments such as scales and rules.
