Job description
Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Human Resources Generalist leads the people management related agenda and manages all HR processes, activities and communication.
The HR Generalist activily supports and exucutes the Daifuku vision for all people-related functions of the organization
Human Resources
• Manage employee relations including: disciplinary process, employee issue resolution, provide employees with guidance, coaching and information to support their development.
• Manage entire recruitment process, including screening, applicatn tracking, interviews, pre-employment assesments/testing, offer letters and onboarding.
• Manage and coordinate performance management, compensation planning and other HR administration processes.
- Monitor employment legislation and introduce programs, policies and employee/manager training as required to ensure compliance.
- Actively identify gaps, propose, and implement change necessary to cover risks for policy, procedure, and process.
- Process and manage WSIB and short term disability claims.
Environmental, Health & Safety
- Maintain Health & Safety documents such as workpalce inspections, JHSC meeting minutes and trainig records
- Create, recommend, implement and maintain all Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Create hazard assessments, physical demands analysis and associated job aids.
- Provide expertise and guidance to investigate incidences of workplace near misses, injuries, enviromental impacts, etc.
- Develop and implement saftety policies and procedures to promote the well-being of emplpyees, prevent injuries and reduce Workers Compensation liability
- Lead the achievement environmetal certification of ISO 14001
- 3 to 5 years of progressive human resources experience, including employee relations, employment law, performance management, compensation, and recruitment.
- University degree or College diploma in Human Resources, or related HR designation – CHRP or working towards.
- Thorough knowledge of all provincial and regulatory requirements, legislation, and regulations.
- Exceedingly strong work ethic, very reliable with a positive “can do” attitude.
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Proven ability to build solid relationships, as well as establish personal credibility and demonstrate HR expertise to earn place as valued and trusted member of team.
- Experience working within fast-paced, complex, dynamic, multi-cultural business environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of sensitive and confidential issues.
- Strong business acumen with ability to understand the business and its strategic direction to make links to HR programs.
- Pass a security background check.
- Must be legally able to work in Canada
• Working knowledge of Employment Standards in Ontario and Human Rights Code.
. Knowledge of Sustainable Development Goals as applied to manufacturing
• Competent in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Teams.
• Must have superb communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
Primarily on-site, working in an office, with some manufacturing environmental exposure
