Job description


The Board of the Avonlea Community Early Learning Center, Inc.  is looking to fill the position of Assistant Director at our new building in Avonlea, Saskatchewan. We are looking for a compassionate, highly motivated leader who is eager to assist in developing a program and work on the floor with children along a team of Early Childhood Educators.
The Assistant Director will report directly to the Center Director; above their regular childcare duties they will assist the Center Director with the overall planning, development, and implementation of age-appropriate programs to enhance cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development according to the organizations program philosophy. The Assistant Director will run day to day operations when the Director is not in office.  

Assistant Director Responsibilities: ______________________________________________________________________________
The job duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Director include but are not limited to the following:
-Assist Director in programming design and implementation
-Provide a safe, nurturing, and educationally rich environment for children to grow, learn, and thrive in.
-Supervise and engage with children throughout the day
-Encourage team building by facilitating open communication and positive working relationships with fellow employees.
-Ensure policies & procedures are being followed by employees
-Administration duties in the absence of the Center Director including, scheduling, planning,licensing requirements, & act as parent contact

Minimum Qualifications:

-Canadian/permanent resident
-Experience working with young children
-Level III Early Childhood Educator certificate (equivalent or working towards)
-Certificates in CPR, First Aid, Food Safety, and WHMIS (or willing to obtain)
-Satisfactory Criminal Records & Vulnerable Sector Check
