Job description

Randstad is currently recruiting for a Production Supervisor for one of our clients in the Concord area.

Tired of working rotating shifts? Looking for work in the GTA. This could be your calling as we are looking for our next All-Star candidate.

A newly created position to lead and develop an established Production Team.

The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring production efficiency maximization through the effective utilization of labor, improvement of production methods and cost control. Achieve results through a team approach, directing the work of unionized production staff as well as working with other departments in the Company. Candidate must
be willing to work any shift, including nights.

Advantages
- Straight Straight Shift (but flexibility is a key as it can be either Days/Afternoons or Nights)
- Compensation $80-95k
- Full-time, permanent position

Responsibilities
- Develop training plans and materials, update skill matrix, coordinate with other departments on scheduling and supporting staff development.

- Become a power user of business systems.
- Responsible for all work order closings, raw material reconciliations, and inventory adjustments.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement within the production staff through regular feedback,
- Provides leadership and mentorship to ensure that day-to-day production outputs are met.
- Assists with the preparation of the weekly manpower schedule based on the master production plan.
- Ensures that company policies and mission are communicated to all production staff; motivates staff to
work towards achieving company standards.
- Collaborates with other key member departments
- Develop and enforces work-safe policies and procedures to meet OHS requirements; working closely
with other staff in investigating claims and establishing a continuous safety mentality.

Qualifications
- College, University or Technical degree or diploma, preferably in operations management or related
fields.
- Minimum 5 years of production supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized Food or Beverage
manufacturing environment.
- Ability to manage, direct, and motivate a diverse workforce.
- Previous experience in Production and Labor Scheduling
- Proficient in Business systems, ability to extract data from the system to create management reports.
- Computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Inventory management experience/knowledge.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
