Job Description Summary
As Senior Project Manager – Licensing, you will manage project activities and resources related to the licensing of a new nuclear reactor design for GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy. You will work collaboratively with the Project Director to define requirements and deliver high quality outcomes. The ideal candidate has a passion for nuclear energy, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to translate and communicate complex requirements effectively and clearly.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for oversight of licensing activities for assigned projects and indirect leadership of project resources.
- Ensures project management practices are followed in accordance with business policies.
- Manages project risks, scope changes, and other non-standard events for assigned projects.
- Develops specialized knowledge in their discipline. Maintains awareness of latest technical developments in assigned area.
- Contributes towards strategy and policy development.
- Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
- Uses problem solving skills and operational judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Develops persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Management
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing medium- to large-scale projects (with multi-disciplinary teams and projects)
Desired Characteristics
- Nuclear power industry experience
- Knowledge of U.S. and Canadian nuclear regulatory requirements
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
- Established project management skills
