Position Summary Miovision is seeking to grow its legal department by adding a Paralegal to support as a Contract Administrator. In this role you will work with the Legal Team to assist internal clients with contract review, compliance and regulatory matters, and help monitor and track renewals. As a member of the Legal Team at Miovision, you will have interaction and overlap with all areas of the organization to ensure the legal team is a strong contributor to the execution of Miovision’s corporate strategy.
Key Accountabilities - Review net new customer and vendor contracts, NDAs, leases, and providing an internal risk analysis with consideration of the value of the opportunity;
- Ensure compliance against corporate governance and policies, and analyze risks and opportunities;
- Escalate contracts within the Legal Team, where necessary, and negotiating terms with the customer or vendor;
- Maintain and update standard sales terms, aligning with overall corporate polices for project delivery, and payment;
- Review customer insurance requirements against corporate insurance policies. Work with external company insurance brokers to provide quick turnaround of Certificates of Insurance;
- Review Request for Proposals, Request for Quotations, and other bids as well as associated customer contract terms and provide a list of exceptions where there are deviations from standard corporate policies/procedures;
- Maintain customer compliance and registrations, ensuring registrations are active and renewed prior to expiration;
- Maintain records, diarizing, and filing systems for future reference on existing and new contracts, bids and proposals;
- Managing, organizing, and helping to create efficient contracting processes within the Legal Team;
- Preparing and reviewing written communications to internal and external parties;
- Administrative support and operations for the department digital file organization; and
- Assistance with special projects and other company initiatives as needed.
Skills/Qualifications - A Paralegal licensed in the Province of Ontario;
- A positive attitude and a good sense of humour;
- 5 to 7+ years of experience in a contract administration role;
- Strong communication skills and an ability to clearly explain legal terms to cross-functional teams within the organization;
- Exceptional organizational skills & attention to detail;
- Dependability - consistently at work and on time;
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage a large number of tasks;
- Computer skills, including experience with Microsoft office, G-Suite, Salesforce, and NetSuite or an openness to learning new programs; and
- Ability to contribute positively to a team environment.
Additional Assets - Experience with regulatory, insurance, privacy, or IP matters; and
- Flexibility in dealing with numerous requests and a varied range of tasks.
