The Nashwaak Watershed Association Inc. (NWAI) was established in 1995 as a not-for-profit organization. Our organization restores land that can protect river water quality and we engage the local community on the value of healthy rivers and floodplains. We envision people caring for a clean, healthy, and beautiful Nashwaak River watershed that supports and connects people and wildlife for years to come.

To promote, conserve, and restore the Nashwaak ecosystem by using science-based methods, community collaboration, and advocacy for the watershed and its inhabitants.
Job Description:
- The Education and Outreach Coordinator is responsible for implementing and/or developing education and outreach materials, coordinating community outreach events, hosting meetings, and other events. We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic person who has a passion for nature, education, and community outreach.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and/or develop education and outreach materials according to the Education and Outreach guidelines of NWAI.
- Organizing and executing education events for youth of all ages and community members
- Grant writing and reporting for NWAI
- Plan and execute education and outreach events in the Watershed such as, but not limited to:
- Informational booths at local markets;
- Snowshoeing events;
- Animal track identification events;
- Stargazing events;
- School outreach events;
- School tree planting events;
- Big Canoe events;
- and more!
- Facilitate the social media channels associated with the NWAI
- During summer months, the Education and Outreach Coordinator will aid with various tasks associated with the departments at Nashwaak Watershed Association Inc.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual (French and English)
- Proof of Background Check with Vulnerable Sector
- Valid Driver's License
Experience:
- Proven work experience with social media
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience event planning
- Proven work experience or desire to work with youth
Other certifications will be considered an asset.
