Pharmacy Technician Lab Course Support
The Faculty of Health Sciences and Human Services includes the Departments of Child and Youth Care, Dental Assistant, Dental Hygiene, Early Childhood Education and Care, Health Care Assistant, Nursing, Practical Nursing, Social Work, Education Assistant and Community Support, and a Professional Development and Training department.
The mission of the Faculty is to foster student success and develop and maintain relevant, responsive, and stimulating learning opportunities that are community-based, globally and locally, and offered in a visionary, interprofessional environment that is conducive to learning and promotes health and wellness for all. The Dean and the Dean's Office lead, manage, administer and support the instructional, scholarly and outreach activities of the Faculty on four campuses with this mission in mind.

Starting Salary
Faculty are placed on the BCGEU salary scale based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement, to an initial maximum of $86,808 per annum

Duties:
VIU's Faculty of Health Sciences and Human Services is seeking individuals who are interested in a non-instructional Pharmacy Technician lab support role to deliver clinical skills courses within the Pharmacy Technician diploma program at the Cowichan campus for July and August 2024. The support technician is expected to work in collaboration with the course instructor
Support lab course instructors to plan, and prepare for program courses; use creative adult learning strategies in the preparation and delivery of in-person clinical skills; providing support to students to ensure their success; working collaboratively with colleagues and industry partners.
This program is delivered in partnership with Selkirk College.

Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning, and student success. Successful candidates will participate in activities outside the classroom including student support and department committees.
Required Qualifications:
Registered Pharmacy Technician and/or Pharmacist in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
