Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice President of Strategy and Finance champions and enables WorkSafeNB's strategic future, long-term financial strategy, and high-performing operations, impacting the sustainability of the system and value delivered to stakeholders.

This is a broad role responsible for organizational strategic planning and driving key business initiatives within finance, accounting, investments, actuarial services, supply chain, assessment services, benefit payment services, and business services including facilities. In this role you will oversee enterprise risk management, policy development, operational performance, data governance and analytics for the organization.

The successful candidate must be a resident, or be prepared to be a resident, of New Brunswick. Preference for this position is to be based in Saint John, New Brunswick, or the surrounding area.

As the Vice President of Strategic Planning and Finance, you will:

• Drive strategy development, execution, and instill an enterprise risk discipline to achieve strategic alignment from the Board to the frontline, delivering public value for stakeholders and cultivating a risk-intelligent, resilient enterprise.
• Spearhead the creation, implementation, and continuous enhancement of WorkSafeNB's long-term financial strategy and financial accounting disciplines, ensuring transparent operations and compliance with legislation and accounting standards.
• Leverage policy, analytics, and effective management to evolve a culture of evidence-based decision-making, while promoting cost-effective operations, organizational excellence, and a growth-centric, people-first culture.

As the ideal candidate you;

• Have 10+ years of progressive senior leadership experience in the areas of federal and provincial legislation, economics, or compensation and rehabilitation systems.
• Hold an MBA or MPA designation, or an accounting credential like CPA, CA, CFA, CMA, or FCIA.
• Related expertise or exposure to government employer and worker groups and associations would be considered a value-added asset.
