Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting applications for two (2) permanent full-time positions of Environmental Professional - Climate Change Adaptation Specialist with the Environment & Climate Change division of Property, Fleet & Environment.

The Municipality is implementing its climate strategy (HalifACT) that was adopted in 2020 and incorporates climate mitigation and adaptation targets and actions by our organization, stakeholders and the wider community. We are at a critical junction in climate change action, and are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable and experienced individuals to join our team. Under the direction of the Manager of Climate Adaptation, the Climate Change Adaptation Specialist works on the Climate Adaptation team on projects focusing on community resilience, critical infrastructure, resilient retrofits, and green infrastructure. These positions will also work with other municipal divisions (e.g., Resilient Infrastructure Standards, Emergency Management, Community Safety, Parks and Recreation, and Facility Design & Construction) as well as municipal community partners.
