The Physiotherapist reports to a Health Program Manager and as a member of a clinical team, the physiotherapist collaborates with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participates in the evaluation of team effectiveness, solves problems, and shares responsibilities. Working within the community with individuals, families and groups, the physiotherapist assesses diagnoses and treats patients in the Community. The physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members, and caregivers with regard to health promotion and physiotherapy treatment. The physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students, and supervision of physiotherapy assistant(s)/rehab assistant(s).
The physiotherapist is based at various satellite offices travelling to client's homes throughout HRM and Hants County. The Physiotherapist is a member of the Community Occupational Therapy & Physiotherapy Team at Continuing Care and liaises with Continuing Care, multidisciplinary care teams, and community and service providers.
