Position Overview

Your passion for conservation drives you to help others reduce their energy usage and you put your communications and collaboration skills to good use, crafting programs tailored to customers' needs.
Does this sound like you? Then you've got what it takes to excel in our Program Manager role.

As a part of our Conservation and Energy Management team, you'll build and refine energy-efficient programs for our commercial and industrial program areas to ensure the delivery of excellent customer experiences, energy savings and high degrees of customer participation. You'll lead a team of energy efficiency representatives, program specialists and marketing coordinators, and build team effectiveness through relationship-based management.  You’ll also collaborate closely with other internal departments to gain insights into customer needs, and methodically make program adjustments to change as the market and customer expectations evolve over time.

Your analytical eye can break down processes to identify opportunities, and you take a proactive approach to ensure programs continually innovate. You're always there to support your colleagues and foster a cohesive team that results in equally streamlined customer journeys.

In year 1, you will:
-Become the expert in Commercial and Industrial portfolio and prioritize the development and adoption of new programs, new measures, and customer experience improvements.
-Ensure targets are met in the Demand Side Management Plan which serves the needs of the sector while driving energy efficiency and greenhouse gas reductions.
-Work closely with peer program managers to ensure consistency across portfolios.

In year 2, you will:
-Prioritize the development cycle and effectively implement program enhancements to meet Plan investment, energy-savings and cost-effective objectives and report against the progress.
-Support regulatory filings with the B.C. Utilities Commission and respond to any intervenor requests relating to commercial and industrial activities.
-Develop competitive bidding contracts, legal contracts and terms and conditions in conjunction with procurement and legal departments.

What it takes:
-A bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related discipline from a recognized program, plus a minimum of five years of recent, related experience with demonstrated success.
-Previous experience delivering and communicating Demand Side Management programs would be an asset.
-Knowledge of natural gas and electrical energy systems in commercial and industrial facilities and experience working in a regulated utility would be an asset.
-A Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) designation, engineering or technical experience preferred, but not required.
-A customer-centric approach to designing programs, team leadership and measuring success.
-Experience with analyzing and implementing energy efficiency measures in retrofit and/or new construction applications.
In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
