In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Manager, Partnerships and Communications, the Consultant, Medical Staff Health and Safety supports the Medical and Academic Affairs department with various agreements and new pieces of work. Deliverables and work outputs will be directly related to improving health and safety of Island Health Medical Staff. The role will work in collaboration with various positions across Medical and Academic Affairs (MAA), Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), and other external interest holders, as required.

Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of Island Health in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training And Experience

A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a field such as occupational health and safety or related discipline, with a minimum of five (5) years' recent related experience working in a healthcare setting.

Valid BC Driver's License
