Job Summary
The IT Operations and Security Manager at Islamic Relief Canada will provide essential support to the Sr Technology Manager by overseeing the organization's IT operations, helpdesk, information security, and network and infrastructure management. This position will manage a team of three professionals, ensuring the organization's IT operations and infrastructure is robust and secure, and support the needs of its various departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
IT Operations:
- Champion the seamless and proficient running of the IT and Information Security Services.
- Strategize and supervise the upkeep of IT assets and technological infrastructure.
- Monitor IT events, manage incidents, and address operational issues to ensure smooth and efficient IT operations.
- Facilitate Level 2 and 3 support coordination with IT service providers.
- Collaborate across Technology Teams to guarantee cohesive IT operations and service delivery.
Help Desk:
- Oversee the help desk function, ensuring timely response and resolution to IT-related issues.
- Own and monitor help desk performance metrics and continually look for ways to improve service levels.
Information Security:
- Develop and implement information security policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with global and local regulations and standards.
- Coordinate and conduct regular internal security audits,
- Oversee vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
- Oversee all security procedures, including but not limited to monitoring and responding to security incidents and breaches.
- Own and monitor info sec performance metrics and work with your line manager to resolve issues.
Network and Infrastructure:
- Oversee the configuration, management and maintenance of the organization's network and infrastructure.
- Ensure high availability, system backup and disaster recovery protocols are in place and tested regularly.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies that will support the growth and needs of the organization.
- Own and monitor Network and Infrastructure performance metrics and work with your line manager to resolve issues.
Team Management:
- Directly manage and coach a team of 3, ensuring their professional development and growth within their roles
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide mentoring and training as needed
- Foster a collaborative, innovative and high-performance culture within the team, promoting effective communication, teamwork, and accountability
- Collaborate with other departments to execute Tech strategies and support organizational objectives
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives, providing technical insights and contributing to organizational planning and decision-making as needed.
IT Metrics Reporting:
- Own the reporting and analysis of IT Operations and Information Security Service KPIs.
- Monitor, report, and strategize on the progression of these KPIs.
- Generate insightful monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports.
Qualifications & Competencies
- A minimum of 5 Yrs of experience in Microsoft Cloud infrastructure, not limited to Azure Entra, Microsoft 365 Enterprise, Microsoft SharePoint Online, Intune, and Azure Cloud Infrastructure, is a must.
- Knowledge of Google Workspace and GCP Cloud Infrastructure.
- At least eight years of professional experience in on IT operations and information security.
- Previous experience (3 Yrs minimum) in managing IT teams of at least 3 members.
- Proven experience in on-premises/cloud infrastructure management and DevOps.
- Experience in implementing technical information security controls.
- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field.
- Eligible to work in Canada
