Job description
Provide administrative support to Minister and Church Boards to ensure smooth running of St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church. This position is vital to the daily functioning and long term well being of the congregation and its facilities. This position provides solid and impactful support, service, and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative Support including preparation of weekly bulletins, special occasion bulletins, newsletters, monthly calendar, and of Live Streaming information for posting.
- Communication Support including coordination weekly with individuals delivering or supporting the Sunday service, and as required for special services such as Easter, Christmas, Weddings, and Funerals.
- Planning and Developing Notices for Events including Annual Meeting, fundraising events, and others as planned.
- Support Office needs including responding professionally to emails and voicemails, contractors’ requests for appointments, requests for visitation by friends or family in hospital, and other requests including those related to the Day Care and the Housing Complex.
- Other activities as required.
Education
A diploma or degree preferred.
Experience
- 2 to 3 years administrative experience.
- Experience working/volunteering in a church or nonprofit environment helpful.
Skills and Attributes
- Medium-level experience in use of software Office 365, and desktop publishing software such as Google Suite and Canva.
- Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills and negotiating skills are essential.
- Proven ability to manage multiple activities concurrently through to successful completion and meet relevant deadlines.
- Ability to work positively and build positive relationships with a variety of individuals from all walks of life.
- A self-starter, who can work independently with minimal supervision.
Hours of Work
On-site Monday to Friday from 8 to 4 p.m. on site
Compensation
- $21 to $23 per hour plus benefits
